Sofia Caccimelio is a recurring character in Season 4 and Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building. She is the wife of the missing Nicky Caccimelio, New York's dry-cleaning king.
She is portrayed by Téa Leoni.
History[]
Sofia came to the Arconia to find Mabel, Charles, and Oliver to ask them to help find her husband, who had gone missing. They told her they weren't detectives and they only covered murders that happened in the building. She was disappointed as she'd hoped that they could do what the police couldn't. And she was sure that what happened to Nicky was connected to the building. She gave them her card and then left, telling them to call her if they changed their minds.[1]
Sofia was surprised later to come home and find Charles, Mabel, and Oliver there. Sofia sent her five sons out of the room and then told them that the truth was that the mob was dead. She also admitted that her husband had a history of disappearing. They showed her a picture of Nicky at the Arconia the night Lester died and Sofia explained that they own the dry cleaners inside the Arconia. They showed Sofia the finger they'd found and she told them it wasn't Nicky's because he had very hairy hands and the finger wasn't hairy. As they went to leave, Sofia followed them out to return Charles' hat, which he'd left behind. She also gave him a deck of cards that Nicky had left on her night stand the day he disappeared, saying he always carried one with him.[2]
Sofia met up with Charles at a hibachi restaurant. After flirting at the table, Sofia invited Charles to come home with her, where they hooked up. Charles accidentally left his phone with her and she ended up taking it out to see Lorraine Coluca, where she gave Lorraine a bag of cash.[3]
After an open house at Lorraine's home, she met up with Sofia and they walked to Mycyn Theater to start rehearsals for Newsies. Before the kids arrived, they watched Loretta and Oliver come in and talk about Oliver's own experience there as a child. When he finished saying his line from Oliver Twist, Sofia and Lorraine clapped for him, drawing attention to themselves. Sofia told Loretta and Oliver that the money she'd given Lorraine was Lester's cut of Nicky's businesses. It helped Lorraine keep the lights on at the theater, where she taught musical theater. Sofia was there to loan Lorraine a toy gun for Newsies. Lorraine was shocked to learn that Oliver believed Lester was murdered and immediately asked him for names. He said he thought she did it, but she said she wasn't at the Arconia that night. She was actually at the theater because they had a rehearsal and the kids could corroborate that. Just then, the kids came in and they started their rehearsal.[4]
After the trio solved Lester's murder and figured out the circumstances surrounding Nicky's death, including learning that Sofia was having an affair with Beau Tillman, who had killed Lester, Sofia came to the Arconia to see Charles. She told him she'd sold the finger, Tillman's, to the billionaires to secure her family's future. She was also using some of the money to go to Italy, a trip Nicky had promised to take her on and never had. She invited Charles to go with her, but he declined. She also gave some of the money to Lorraine, to help her realize her dreams.
Three months later, Sofia got a call telling her her mother was dying. She told her mother that while she'd helped some, Sofia was the one who made their family's future really happen. Nonna then took her last breath and died.[5]

Her husband, Nicky, was missing and presumed dead by the police. He has a connection to the Caputo Crime Family.
