Silvia Mora (née Ramirez) is a minor character in Season 1 of Only Murders in the Building. She is Mabel Mora's mother.
She is portrayed by Mandy Gonzalez.
History[]
Silvia has lived in Bayport, Long Island since Mabel was young. She was always working, so when her rich sister offered to take Mabel for school breaks, she thought it was perfect until Mabel's friend, Zoe, died there and she turned into a ghost from the grief, which made her wish she'd never sent Mabel there.
When Silvia learned that now-adult Mabel was back in town and hadn't called her, she was upset and confronted Mabel about it. Mabel, Charles, Oliver, and Oscar all came back to Silvia's home, where Mabel told Silvia that Tim had died. Silvia was upset that Mabel was investigating his death and blamed Charles and Oliver for dragging her into it, despite Mabel's insistence that she was fine. After Mabel sent Charles and Oliver home, she and Silvia talked. Silvia said that Charles and Oliver were sad characters, but Mabel said they were the first friends she'd had in a long time and she wanted to see the case through. Silvia said that since Mabel was a child, she always wanted to skip to the end of stories to find out how things ended.
Personality[]
Silvia cares deeply about Mabel, and is afraid to see her hurt. She is very hardworking, but regrets that she was always working when Mabel was young so she couldn't spend more time with her. She wants the best for Mabel, which is why she sent her to stay with her sister Salma Ramirez in the school holidays. However, her anxiety for her daughter sometimes leads Mabel to feel smothered and overprotected; she doesn't always recognise that Mabel is capable of making her own decisions.
