Nonna is a minor character in Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building. She is the mother-in-law of the missing Nicky Caccimelio, New York's dry-cleaning king.
She is portrayed by Elizabeth D'Onofrio.
History[]
She grew up in a mob family and didn't respect any many who wasn't a brute. When her daughter, Sofia, met and fell in love with Nicky Caccimelio, Nonna spent years grinding him down to become a hard, brutish man.[1]
Nonna was at home making sausage when Charles-Haden Savage, Mabel Mora, and Oliver Putnam came over to talk to Sofia. When they spilled a cup with a human finger in it, Nonna wanted them to keep it out of her gravy.[2]
Nonna went with two of her grandsons to Charles' place to steal the finger from his freezer. Weeks later, when they came to the dry cleaners to confront her about it, she cursed.[3] They asked her why she'd taken the finger and she said that Sofia had recognized as belonging to her lover, so Nonna stole it for her, though she didn't know who the lover was.
Three months later, with Sofia in Italy, Nonna neared the end of her life. Johnny called Sofia, who talked to Nonna as she took her last breaths, telling Nonna that she, not Nonna, was the one who had secured their family's future.[4]
