Miller Portnoy

Miller Portnoy is a recurring character in Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building.

He is portrayed by David Patrick Kelly.

History[]

Miller worked in the trash department of the Arconia. When the other worker, Gary, retired, Miller resented him for leaving. Oliver Putnam and Mabel Mora came downstairs to ask Miller for access to the trash to review evidence, but he scared them away. When Oliver held a meeting to support the staff, who were worried about being replaced with robots, Miller decided they were on the right side and gifted them a portrait of Lester made out of the trash they wanted.[1]

On the last day before everyone in the Arconia had to move out, Miller had to find and return the murder board to Mabel, Charles, and Oliver because Charles had thrown it out and then they decided to re-start the investigation after learning that Lester had killed Nicky to stop all the crime in the building. They all convened in Oliver's apartment for a Last Supper themed party/investigation. There, they discovered that Nonna had been the one to take the finger from Charles' freezer, so they went to the dry cleaners to confront her.[2]

Miller was downstairs when three broken phones came through his trash chute. Recognizing them as Mabel, Charles, and Oliver's, he brought them upstairs and found Howard, who said they needed to get downstairs because he was worried that they were in danger. Althea stepped in to help and they got downstairs, where the trio identified Beau Tillman as Lester's murderer.[3]
