Mayor Tipton is a minor character in Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building. He is the former mayor of Chickasha, Oklahoma who was sent to prison for the murder of Becky Butler.
He is portrayed by Todd Conner.
History[]
Tipton was mayor of Chickasha. He employed Becky Butler as his assistant. She answered his phones and took care of other business for him. One evening, she went to leave and he asked her to stay and have a drink. When she refused and left, he told her she wouldn't always be able to say no to him. Soon after that, Becky disappeared. Cinda Canning came to town to investigate the murder and make a podcast about it. Through the course of this, she pointed to him as the murderer and he was arrested and sent to prison. Unfortunately, this conviction was based on evidence Daniel Kreps had planted to assist Becky Butler, now living under the name, Poppy White and working with Cinda.
After Poppy and Kreps were arrested, he was presumably released from prison.
