Lucy is a recurring character in Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building. She is the daughter of Charles' ex-girlfriend Emma.
She is portrayed by Zoe Colletti.
History[]
Charles and Lucy got on very well; when Emma and Lucy moved in with Charles, he cooked her favorite breakfast omelette every morning for her. After Emma and Charles' breakup, Lucy didn't see Charles for several years.
Reunion with Charles[]
Lucy attempted to see Charles in 2021 after learning that he had been arrested. Charles, on the other hand, told Lucy that he was too busy to see her, so she used her key to enter his apartment and then the hidden passageway in his bathroom. Lucy surprised Charles by paying him a visit in his trailer a few weeks later, while he was filming the Brazzos revival. Lucy returned to Charles' apartment with him after they talked, where she also met Oliver and Mabel. Lucy discovered the knife used to murder Bunny in Charles' knife block while she was in Charles' apartment. Charles tried to persuade Lucy to leave, but instead she went to the bathroom, where she opened and showed the trio the hidden passageway, which she suspected the killer was using to enter and exit their apartments to plant evidence. She walked them through the entire building.
Lucy accompanied them when they delivered a gift basket to Nina in an attempt to coerce her into confessing to the murder of Bunny, but Nina went into labor instead. As Nina was being transported to the hospital, Lucy expressed to Mabel how her life would have been different if her mother and father had remained together. Mabel urged Lucy to reveal her true purpose to Charles.
Charles arranged for a car to return Lucy to Connecticut. Before she left, Lucy informed Charles that she had skipped her mother's wedding in order to see him, only to hear that he was unavailable. She was upset that they hadn't communicated in eight years. He informed her that her mother had forbidden all contact, but she permitted him to text her. She also stated that he was her favorite of her five fathers.[1]
Lucy returned to New York to observe Charles film the remake of Brazzos, which she enjoyed. After he concluded, she departed to catch a train back home.[2]
Blackout[]
Lucy came back to the city to hang out with Charles again. While she was talking to him on the phone, telling him where she was, the city was enveloped in darkness as a blackout spread through the city.[3] While she waited for Charles, Lucy started looking around for a snack. When she heard someone trying to force their way into the apartment, she ran to the bathroom and entered the passageway, where the intruder followed her. She hid in the passageway until she found Charles, Mabel, and Oliver. She told them the person who had broken into Charles's apartment was the same person she saw in the passageways the night Bunny died. Whoever it was that night looked at her, sneezed, and then ran off. When they saw a flashlight approaching them, they were forced to run again. Lucy led them through the passageways, then down the stairs, where a figure in a jumpsuit pursued them. At the bottom of the stairs, Mabel whacked the figure with a bag of dips, knocking him over. Then they unmasked him to show it was Marv, though he insisted he wasn't the killer. Lucy confirmed that it wasn't the same person and said Marv had actually scared the real killer off.
With the power back on, Lucy talked to Detective Kreps, telling him they'd just had to run from the killer. Charles and Oliver then led Lucy out.[4]
Brazzos Set and Oliver's Play[]
After Charles, Mabel, and Oliver solved Bunny's murder, Lucy accompanied Charles again to the Brazzos set, where he learned that due to his rising popularity, his part was being expanded.
A year later, Lucy came to the premiere of Oliver's new play, in which Charles was starring, along with Ben Glenroy. As the play started, they watched in horror as Ben collapsed and seemingly died.[5] In the aftermath, Joy made sure Lucy got home safely.[6]
Personality[]
Lucy is a fun and bubble spirit. She doesn't mind the danger as shown in many of the episodes and she's very fun to work with. The trio seem to think highly of her but at the same time, are also quite protective over her seeming as she had some part of helping to solve the season 2 mystery and also has put herself in dangers way for the sake of the group (even though she was told not to) many times. Lucy enjoys being in the presence and working with her somewhat of a stepfather. Over the course of the episodes we can see that Lucy respects, loves, and looks up to Charles. Lucy likes to make herself useful, she's not afraid and doesn't just sit back and hide in the shadows. She's sweet, kind, very caring, she's doesn't let anyone, or anything get in her way. Lucy also has quite a sense of humor, one reason why her and Oliver get along so well.

- Judging by her monologue to Mabel, Lucy is interested in crime, psychology and mental health, as she references "mental health tiktok" and the DSM-5, a manual of psychological problems.
- Lucy is admittedly a parody of Gen-Z TikTok culture.
- She used to play hide-and-seek with Anaya, Arnav's daughter. While doing this, they discovered the secret passages in the Arconia.
