Glen Stubbins was a recurring character in season four of Only Murders in the Building. He was a stunt double who worked often with Ben Glenroy and was portrayed by Paul Rudd.

History[]

Glen was Ben Glenroy's stunt double. When Ben died, he started to struggle to get work as he no longer had Ben's projects he could rely on. This led to him struggling in other ways to the point where he began hallucinating that he was seeing rats in Concussion, a stunt worker bar. When Oliver, Mabel, and Charles came to the bar to investigate the death of fellow stunt worker, Sazz Pataki, Glen pretended to have a problem with them and threatened to attack them, but once they were outside, he apologized and begged them to help him get a job. They said they'd get him a job on the movie about their podcast if he would tell them what was happening in the back room of the bar. They knew Sazz was int hat room the night she died. Glen said she was seeing Dr. Maggie, a chiropractor who worked out of the bar, helping the stunt workers.

Glen took Charles back to Dr. Maggie's room. While Charles talked to her, Glen got on the inverted table, which he said helped him hide from the rats.

Charles returned to the bar later to stand in for Sazz so they stunt workers could hold a funeral for her. This involved each of them speaking about her and then breaking a stunt bottle over Charles's head. When it got to Glen's turn, the bottle turned out to be real and it knocked Charles out. It also caused a fight, which Glen said was exactly what Sazz would have wanted.[2]

Glen was able to get a job on the movie doing odd jobs, including standing in for Oliver at a photo shoot. To thank Charles, he brought a loaf of soda bread to his apartment. They later saw each other again at the photo shoot, where Glen led in the other stand-ins. When Oliver and Zach struggled to get the poses right, Tawny had Glen come in to show them how to stand. The photo shoot was soon after interrupted by gunshots.[1] Glen was shot, but the bullet hit the plate in his head and then hit Zach. Both were expected to be okay.[3]

Glen was in a coma for multiple days.[4] When he woke up, he developed a crush on the nurse who was caring for him. Unfortunately when the nurse left the room, he was suffocated to death with a pillow by Marshall P. Pope.[5]

Career[]

He is a stunt worker. Due to his uncanny resemblance to Ben Glenroy, Glen often worked on Ben's movies and shows. When Ben died, Glen struggled to find work.[2]

He worked as the replacement stuntman for Project Ronkonkoma after the previous stuntman's careless actions led to burn injuries for both himself and the director, Ron Howard.
