Althea is a recurring character in Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building.
She is portrayed by Beanie Feldstein.
History[]
Althea was friends with both Mabel Mora and Tim Kono when she was a teenager.[1]
She later bought and began living in the penthouse at the Arconia. When she arrived, she was happy to see Mabel and told her that her team had advised she look for a home somewhere boring. She chose the Arconia because it's all old people and Mabel. Mabel told her about her podcast, and Althea suggested coming on as a guest, but Mabel turned her down.[2] Mabel and Althea had been each other's only friend during middle school back in Bayport and they made videos as Sunny and Cloudy, respectively. Mabel later invited Althea to the Arconia, which she came to admire, for the summer and she was introduced to Mabel's other friends. However, after Zoe's death, a depressed Mabel withdrew from everyone, including Althea. When Mabel returned to school after that summer Althea had joined another crowd and turned everyone against her.[3]

Mabel Mora[]
It is implied that Mabel and Althea were friends long before the former first came to the Arconia. Mabel would invite her for their summer breaks until Zoe's death. Mabel became depressed out of grief and withdrew from everyone including Althea; who was unaware of this. Thinking that Mabel was ghosting her and ditching her for her "city friends", a hurt Althea turned everyone against her which lead to the former; who by this time had finally come out of her depression; to not being able to connect with other people and becoming a loner. After they both became famous in their own respective ways, Althea; now going by THĒ; would often belittle Mabel's success and passive aggressively try to get under her skin by hinting at her own success. In reality, however, she envied Mabel and wished that she was her. After a brief fight, both confessed how both had hurt each other, made peace and became friends again.[4]
